C But there were other people who weren't so nice C7 F And they plotted to take His life C And the Man knew all about it G But He didn't even hide. C And they beat Him and they robbed Him C7 F And they hung Him for bein' good. C And they laughed and made jokes G While they stood in his blood. C But there's a happy ending to the story. C7 F I think you'll be glad to know C He came back to life in glory, G And up from the grave He arose. C So before you turn out your light, C7 F Remember this one Man C Who lived comfortably in heaven G But gave it all up to hang on a cross.
