Hey!

I know there is lots and lots of speed practices in UG, but I decided to make a tab
how I have learned playing faster.

So
These few practises should help you gain more speed to your playing.
IMPORTANT!: Remember that speed doesn't say if you're good player or not.

(Above the tab is the fingering)

Exercise 1:

This is very "normal" practise. Just start slowly and increase speed when you get it
flawless.
(try also with hammering and pull-off's)

Exercise 2 Exercise number two should help you're your both hands to gain speed. Exercise 2a) Picking hand

Exercise 2b) Fretting hand

4 3 2 1 4 3 2 1 4 3 2 1 4 3 2 1 1 2 3 4 3 2 1 1 4 3 2 1 4 3 2 1 1e|-11p10p9p8----------------------------------------------------------------------|B|-----------11p10p9p8------------------------------------------------------------|G|---------------------11p10p9p8--------------------------------------------------|D|-------------------------------11p10p9p8\7h8h9h10p9p8p7\6-----------------------|A|----------------------------------------------------------9p8p7p6---------------|E|------------------------------------------------------------------9p8p7p6p5-----|
Exercise 3 Exercise number three is from Stratovarius' "Black diamond" song. ( It's actually on but here it is arranged for guitar) I think it might be the best speed exercise that exists.
1 4 2 4 1 4 3 4 1 4 2 4 1 4 3 4 1 4 3 4 1 4 3 4 2 4 3 4e|---|------------------------------------------------------------------------------|B|---|:10-8-10-6-10---10---10-8-10-6-10---10---11-10-11-8-11----11---11-10-11-------|G|-7-|--------------9----7--------------9----7---------------10----9----------------|
1 4 3 4 2 4 2 4 1 4 3 4 1 4 2 4 1 4 3 4 1e|----------------------------------------------|-----------------------------------|B|-8-11----11--8-6-8-5-8---8---8-6-8-5-8---8---:|-x999------------------------------|G|------10---9-----------7---5-----------7---5--|-----------------------------------|
These are the exercises i've done about million times and I think they help me every still (maybe not getting faster, but they're good warm up's). And of course you shouldn't do only what these exercises say you to do. You should make exercises of your own that you feel comfortable with. | / slide up | \ slide down | h hammer-on | p pull-off | ~ vibrato | + harmonic | x Mute note ===============================================================================
