Thanks to Zachary (1st version of the tab) for providing the template... hope he doesn't mind.
Guitar's in standard tuning... a rarity for Coldplay, I must say. Still some
different chords though...I'm giving them semi-standard names because I have no
clue what they are really called.
The Chords:
   B B* G#* G#*add5 Fmajor E
e| 7 7 0 0 2 0
b| 7 7 0 0 2 0
G| 8 7 4 6 3 1
D| 9 8 6 x 4 2
A| 9 9 6 6 4 2
E| 7 7 4 4 2 0
Verse 1:
B B*
From the very start, it
G#* (G#*add5)
Came a-part and,
B* B* G#*
Broke up into pieces and...
Fmaj B B*
There's a chance I could have missed it,
G#* (G#*add5)
It could risked it,
(Fmaj) B B* G#*
But I put myself into your hands,
                       B
 Cos you're not just anyone,

                        G#*
You're a ladder to the sun,

                       B
 Oh, You're not just anyone,

                       G#*
You're a ladder to the sun.
Verse 2:
B B*
I could run my courses and ah,
G#* (G#*add5)
Opposing forces and ah,
B B* G#*
Men are just mortals, and...
B B*
Oh If you want me then you can have me,
      G#* (G#*add5)
C'mon take me, oh baby grab me,
B B* G#*
Cos If you want me then you can have me,
                       B
 Cos you're not just anyone,
                        G#*
You're a ladder to the sun,
                       B
 Oh You're not just anyone,
                        G#*
You're my ladder to the sun.
E
Oh now boy, what you may not turn?
Fmaj
You set a course and she couldn't run,
E (slide up to B again.)
Oh now boy what you may not turn...
(1st instrumental -- listen to the song for timing) B B* B B*
Verse 3:
           E
I had it all and I risked it,
     C#m Fmaj
And it could risk it,
          E C#m Fmaj
I had it all and, and I risked it all,
                  B
Then I risked it all.
( 2nd instrumental -- listen to the song to get the timing right -- alternates
between B and G#* )
                B
And I risked it all,
              B*
A ladder to the,
                G#*
A ladder to the sun,
          (G#*add5)
A ladder to the,
                 B
A ladder to the sun,
             B*
A ladder to the,
                G#*
A ladder to the sun,
                               B
I had it all and I risked it all,
              B*
A ladder to the,
                G#*
A ladder to the sun,
           (G#*add5)
A ladder to the,
                B
A ladder to the sun,
             B*
A ladder to the,
                 G#*
A ladder to the sun,
E B Fmaj [note, to make this transition easier,
use (top to bottom) 024422 as your "B" chord.]
I had it all and I risk it all,
                 E
And I risked it all,
 B Fmaj E
Ohh, and I risked it all,
         B
I had it all,
    Fmaj E
and I risked it all,
   B Fmaj...
Ohh, and I risked it all...
               B (strum entire chord slower)
A ladder to the sun.
