LYRIC SHEET (casually, dreamy-eyed) Gmaj Oh, yeah-- Am7 D7 Gmaj7 Am7 D7 I once knew a lass, liked to smoke grass Gmaj7 That perky face and those thighs Am7 D7 I would memorize Gmaj7 Am7 D7 And this girl, made my head whirl Gmaj7 That's all there was Am7 D7 Gmaj7 Oh, yeah-- Am7 D7 She was kinda nuts, but there were no "but"s Gmaj7 I had to have her Am7 D7 It was kinda nice, chilled me like ice Gmaj7 Wakin' up next to her Light in the windowsill, yeah . . . Am7 D7 She was the one, wore her hair in a bun Gmaj7 And worked in the garden, she had a pail, oh yeah . . . Am7 D7 She went shopping for clothes, they were all old Gmaj7 Down at Goodwill Am7 D7 Didn't know that I sang, Didn't know that it rang Gmaj7 Outta key, too -- oh yeah Love it I love it, all-- Am7 D7 Just got a pencil, on a paper, and you just Gmaj7 write it, write it on down, Round, round round and round . . . Am7 D7 Didn't like tv, just you and me, baby Gmaj7 She was from the country Am7 D7 She knew a little french, got my monkeywrench Gmaj7 And made some magic Can't find magic Am7 D7 It's all over now Don't even know how, but my baby's Gmaj7 gone. She's gone, she's gone, and that's all right, it's all right because I'm Am7 D7 Sittin' around, I'm not up I'm not down -- Just Gmaj7 gettin' by, gettin' high, driving around and around in the sky yeah Am7 D7 Some say it's crazy, others lazy, but I Gmaj7 know. I know, I know, I know, I know, I know -- you just gotta Am7 D7 Do it all up there again someday, You might get lucky, today I know Gmaj7 She's comin' back Gmaj7 Gunny sack, gunny sack, gunny gunny sack-- And she's Am7 She was the one D7 Gmaj7 Wore her hair in the bun, and I ain't tellin' no more G#maj7 Gmaj7 No, no no no-- ADDITIONAL NOTES Of the 93.08.26 recording, there's two versions of the intro -- a long, unedited one and a shorter one without all of the "let's see here -- what kinda chords we got here" dialogue. The chord pattern is the same for this intro. A 1987 Fender Stratocaser (stock pickups, rosewood neck, jumbo frets, Kahler tremolo, cream colored) was also used, plugged directly into the board (a Yamaha MT-120 4-track recorder). A Group Image demo tape (also released under the GPL) can be ordered for $4 (Canada $5, World $7) cash or money order (US check made out to Michael Stutz) from Michael Stutz, PO BOX 542, BEREA OH 44017-0542 USA.
