Joe Jackson – Hometown tab

Artist: Joe Jackson
Song: Hometown
Album: Big World
Tuning: Standard

I haven't tabbed more than the intro and verse and it's hard to tell if it's spot on or
not with all the reverb, but it's close enough. I knocked it down an octave too, normally
it's played up on fret 12+. I might make corrections later, unders comments I suppose.

D A Bm F#m G D G A Of all the stupid things I could have thought this was the worst D A Bm F#m G D G A I started to believe that I was born at seventeen D A Bm F#m G D G A And all the stupid things, the letters and the broken verse D A Bm F#m G D G A Stayed hidden at the bottom of the drawer, they'd always been D A Bm F#m G D G A And now I plough through piles of bills receipts and credit cards D A Bm F#m G D G A And tickets and the daily news and sometimes I just wanna go back to my Chorus Bm F#m G D Home Town, though I know it'll never be the same A D F#m G Back to my home town, 'cause it's been so long A Eadd9 And I'm wondering if it's still there. We think we're pretty smart/tough, us city slickers (we) get around And when the going's rough we kill the pain and relocate We're never married, never faithful not to any town But we never leave the past behind, we/it just accumulate/s So sometimes when the music stops I seem to hear a distant sound Of waves and seagulls, football crowds and churchbells and I wanna go back to my Chorus Segway: Eadd9 G Eadd9 G A
