Malvina Reynolds – Little Boxes chords
This is a correct, easy to play version of the song. It was originally written in the key of F, but I transposed it to E. The song is written in 3/4, so I like to play it picking the root note and then the bottom strings twice to emphasize the whimsical nature of the melody. I also tried to place the chords above the right syllable, didn't have a lot of luck struggling with the formatting though. Just remember CAPO ON THE FIRST FRET INTRO: E, B7 (strum and hold this note)E E A ELittle boxes on the hillside, little boxes made of ticky-tackyE B7 E B7Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes all the sameE E A EThere's a green one, and a pink one, and a blue one, and a yellow oneE B7 EAnd they're all made out of ticky-tacky, and they all lookEjust the sameE E A EAnd the people in the houses, all went to the universityE B7 E B7Where they were put in boxes, and they came out all the sameE E A EAnd there's doctors, and there's lawyers, and business ex-ecutivesE B7 EAnd they're all made out of ticky-tacky, and they all look justEthe sameE E A EAnd they all play on the golf course, and drink their martinis dryE B7 E B7And they all have pretty children, and the children go to schoolE E A EAnd the children go to summer camp, and then to the universityE B7 E EWhere they are put in boxes, and they come out all the sameE E A EAnd the boys go into business, and marry and raise a familyE B7 E B7In boxes made of ticky-tacky, and they all look just the sameE E A EThere's a green one, and a pink one, and a blue one, and a yellow oneE B7 EAnd they're all made out of ticky-tacky, and they all look justEthe same
