With your fretting hand (left if you're right handed and vice versa), put your pinky or ring finger on the seventh fret on the D-string, whichever you find most comfortable. Put your index finger on the fifth fret on the G-string. After the first chord, you've let go of your index finger, leaving the index finger and the middle finger free for the bass line. The first three notes on the lowest string (E-string tuned down to D) are played on an open string (so only using your thumb on your strumming hand), and then use your middle finger for the 7th fret on the lowest string, and then your index finger for the fifth fret on the A-string.
If you want to play it in standard tuning:e|-------------------------------------------------------------

With your fretting hand, put your index finger on the fifth fret on the A-string. Use your middle finger for the fifth fret on the G-string and your pinky for the seventh fret on the D-string. After the first beat, you've let go of your middle finger so you're only using your pinky for the chord. Let go of the A-string with your index finger to play the fifth fret of the E-string.
