Annuals – Confessor tab

			     CONFESSOR - The Annuals
Tabbed by:Alex Worthy

Just found out there are no tabs for this! Thought I'd send in my thoughts.

NOTE: this is based off of the Acoustic duo seen on Youtube from the Paste Magazine studio.
The studio recording will differ with extra guitar parts.

Tuning:Standard, no capo for both guitars.

For starters, the rhythm chords:

B*: x2445x Em : 022000
A : x02220 F#m : 24422x <~ that's how he actually plays it, with his thumb on
the low E. Play it regularly if you want
B2 : x244xx B : x2444x
D : xx0232 E : 022100

Pack up and leave everyday
I plant the seed to rip the roots away
         B2 F#m Em
And I believe every word you say calls the thunder
and spooks off the pain (yep!)

And through the windows in the chapel
            A D
Is laying in the morning light
Every wick and every candle
Is laying in the morning

I'm here with your dress at night
  A B2
I confess, I confess, I confess
At the hem of your dress
I confess
To spook off the pain
It's when I always catch you laughing
At the cusp of everyday
It's when I always catch you grinning

It suits you well

B* - A - B2 - F#m - Em - D <~ This D he plays differently. Refer below to see how.

At this point the chorus is repeated(twice), and the song ends on D.

Guitar 2, for those interested:
Verse:e|---0--0--0--0--0--0----2--2--2--2--2--2-----------------------------------------------|B|-----2--2--2--2--2--2h4--4--4--4--4--4--------2-3-2-----------------------------------|G|----4--4--4--4--4--4----4--4--4--4--4---2p1h2-2-2-2-------4-------4-------4-------4---|D|----------------------------------------2-----2-2-2--1h2h4-2-1-2h4-2-1-2h4-2-1-2h4-2-1|A|----------------------------------------------0-0-0-----------------------------------|E|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| At this part, basically just strum~^
After that line, strum F#m and Em, and then play the chorus:
It's actually sorta strummed, but to help you figure out how, pick the following notesvery carefully, and then start making it sloppy, so you hit other notes at the same time.e|-----5---5---5---5---5---5---5---5---5---7---7---7---7---7---7-10-9-7------|B|---7---7---7---7---7---7---7---7---7---8---8---8---8---8---8----------10-8-|G|--7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9--9-9-9--9-9|D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
The Verse repeats, followed by what is sort-of a bridge I guess;e|----------------------------------------------------------------|B|-------------7---------------7----------------------------------|G|--8-868-868-8-6-4/8-868-868-8-8-6-4-----------------------------|D|-----------------------------------66666-6h7-77-6-4------4------|x2A|----------------------------------------------------7p6-7-7p6---|E|----------------------------------------------------------------|
Solo: Starts off at 4 because that's where your index should be anyways fromthe bridge.e|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|B|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|G|-----11-----9p8------9-9p8------------------------------------------------------|D|--4/9------9---9----9-----9------9-7-676-464-----7-6-464-4----------------------|A|--------7h9------7h9-------9-9-7------------4446--------7-7-777679-555----------|E|------------------------------------------------------------------7---7p5-5~3~2~|
The Chorus part plays again, except on the B string, he hammers 7h8 with his pinky occasionally. The song ends there. That's pretty much it. Good luck playing! ************************************ | / slide up | \ slide down | h hammer-on | p pull-off | ~ vibrato | + harmonic | x Mute note | b Bend | pb Pre-bend | br Bend release | pbr Pre-bend release | brb Bend release bend ************************************
