If you have someone backing you with the chords or you're jamming with the song, the should come pretty instinctively, but for me personaly, the G Dorian Mode sounds good with song, don't be thrown off when you see the term Dorian Mode. All you do is add a note in place on the pentatonic scale where notes are 3 half steps away, add a note before second note... If that makes any sense.
